This gem is a beautifully proportioned vintage fold-down bureau. Designed in the late 1950s in the Danish Modern style. Possibly Danish but more probably British made by designers heavily inspired by the clean lines, warm woods and minimalist styling of Scandinavian design during the post-war era.
This is a high quality, well made piece of furniture, built to last. The fold down desk panel opens cleanly on brass sliding hinges, the drawers slide smoothly and feature precision engineered dovetail joints and sculpted drawer pulls. The vintage teak finish has a warm and mellow chestnut tone. The cabinet sits on solid wood tapered legs allowing it to appear to float and leaving the floor visible so giving a greater sense of space to your room. It had been well loved and well looked after however some minor signs of ware are present when examined in fine detail. The overall appearance of this cabinet is excellent.
